You don’t have to grieve your beloved pet alone.

More Than Pets: Rainbow Bridge Edition is a four-week, online group program offering compassionate, trauma-informed grief support to those of you whose animal companions have died while also helping you explore a continued relationship with your beloveds in spirit.

“Olivia opened the door to a communication with my animal companion which has continued after her death. Her insight, compassion, and wisdom helped me to forge a continued relationship with my beloved…. I am so tremendously grateful to Olivia and highly recommend her services.” —Lola S., person to dogs Shimmer and Dazzle

More Than Pets: Rainbow Bridge edition might be for you if…

…you’re grieving an animal companion (it’s okay if they died quite a while ago).

…you’re feeling like nobody really understands your loss and want to be around people who actually get it.

…you’re questioning signs from your beloved animals in spirit and want to trust your connection with them on the other side.

…you’re carrying questions, guilt, and shame around your animal’s death and want to move toward peace and closure.

During the four-week online group program, we’ll use spirit communication, Reiki, guided exercises, and more to tend to our grief and honor and connect with our animals who have died.

I’ll offer you trauma-informed, compassionate support as you move through the grief of your animals’ physical passing and help you explore a continued relationship with them in spirit.

Your tears are welcome.

Your stories are welcome.

You are not alone.

When and where it’s happening:

We’ll have four weekly group sessions that will be two hours long and will take place via Zoom.

Exact time and dates are TBD (you get to help decide).

I had to postpone the original dates because I got sick. So I’m asking those of you who apply for your input on dates and times that would work best for you, and I’ll let you know what the final dates and times are before you decide to commit.

All sessions will be recorded and shared with you.

What we’ll be doing* together:

Session 1: Intros and Readings

We’ll invite the spirits of your animals to talk with us during each session, but we’ll kick off the program with some more formal mini readings with them after introducing ourselves and our beloveds.

Session 2: Sharing and Witnessing

You’ll have a chance to share as much as you feel comfortable sharing about your animal companions, your experiences, and your feelings. Tears, laughter, and everything in between will be welcome as we compassionately witness each other.

Session 3: Connecting and Noticing

Here’s where we get into more of the magic: I’ll lead you through a ritual to honor and connect with your beloved animals in spirit. We’ll also talk about different ways you can connect with them in everyday life and discuss signs from “the other side.”

Session 4: Honoring and Integrating

We’ll revisit some of what came up during our time together, and I’ll do my best to answer any lingering questions. We’ll also discuss ways to continue honoring and connecting with your animals moving forward, as well as ways to continue tending to your grief.

We’ll end each session with some Reiki and an exercise that will help nourish your nervous system.

You’ll also receive digital materials to use on your own time during or after the program, including audio recordings of the exercises we do in class, reflection prompts, and other resources to support you through grief. These materials will be yours to keep forever.

*I’ll remain flexible to address whatever arises, so some or all of this might change depending on the needs of the group.

Meet your guide (me!)

me and lucy

I’m Olivia LaBarre (she/her/they/them): A professional animal communicator, Reiki master/teacher, certified Pet Loss Bereavement Specialist, writer, editor, and person to dogs Lucy and Milo. I believe our animal companions are so much more than pets and that we share a spiritual connection we can nurture even after they cross the rainbow bridge.

I’m no stranger to grief and loss. I’ve had traumatic losses of both people and pets throughout my life and have supported so many clients after their animals’ end-of-life-transitions.

Through all of this, I’ve experienced firsthand and witnessed how powerful both spirit communication and group grief support can be in tending to grief after the loss of an animal companion. Yet I had never seen them combined together in one offering. So I created More Than Pets: Rainbow Edition to do just that.

I won’t tell you you’re grieving too hard or too long or in the wrong way. But I will offer you compassionate, trauma-informed support as you move through the pain of your animals’ physical passing and help you explore a continued relationship with them in spirit.

If this feels like what you’ve been looking for then there’s a spot in this program for you.

Wondering what it’s like to work with me?

Here’s what some clients and original More Than Pets participants have to say….

What Olivia does is really open up a whole new dimension to relationships with animals.

“It felt great being part of a group who understands what you're experiencing or would like to experience when it comes to connecting with your animals.” —Jess J., person to Silvie (pictured) and Bub

We miss [our dog] terribly, but because of your help and guidance, this difficult time is a bit easier.”

How much time will I need to invest in this program?

Each of the four weekly sessions will be about two hours long, but aside from that, it’s really up to you. I’ll give you supportive materials to read, reflection questions, and recordings of guided exercises, and you can engage with them as much or as little as you want to on your own time and at your own pace.

How long will I get to keep the program materials?

Everything you receive will be yours to keep for life.

What if I can’t make all of the group sessions?

Since so much of this program is experiential, I’d love for you to make as many sessions as possible. But if you have to miss one it’s not a big deal. I’ll be recording all of the sessions and sharing them with the group.

Does it matter how long ago my animal companion died?

For the most part, no. However, if it was recently, I usually recommend waiting at least a couple of weeks to allow yourself to be with your grief. I’ve found that it can also be difficult to retain much in those first couple of weeks.

I have more than one animal companion who died. Is that okay?

Yes! You’re welcome to discuss and honor as many animals as you’d like to during the program. However, we may not be able to hear from them all during the reading in the first session. If that’s the case, I’ll ask the animals with the greatest need to communicate to step forward, and they others may pop in at other times throughout the program.

Can I benefit from this if you’ve already talked to my animal(s) in a private session?

Definitely. I’ve found that our animal companions in spirit always have more to tell us and teach us. Plus, you’ll receive so much more than I can offer in one private session, including the presence of others who can witness and relate to your experience.

Will this program make my grief go away?

I can’t promise that, but I can promise that you will be seen, heard, and held in your grief—which can feel very healing. And you’ll receive supportive resources for tending to your grief, as well.

Are you a licensed mental health professional?

No. I’m a certified Pet Loss Bereavement Specialist. This program is not meant to replace therapy or other services offered by a licensed mental health professional.

How do I know if you’re the right guide for me?

Above all, I’d advise you to follow your intuition or gut feeling. If you feel like you’re meant to be here then that’s usually a sign that you are. But it also depends on what you’re looking for and if you feel good about working with me. I invite you to read this full page and check out the rest of my website, and reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns before making a decision. I understand that this is a big investment for many.

What's your refund policy?

I will not be giving refunds due to the nature of the program and the limited number of spots available.
